In this pick and place application, very small rings have to be gripped and then placed at a specific position. For the implementation, a 3-axis spatial gantry robot was equipped with a small parts gripper and an object recognition sensor. The sensor detects the parts, whereupon the gantry picks up the small parts with the gripper and places them in the box. In this way, the robot, end effector and camera system work together reliably.
